BlackBerry Introduction

BlackBerry Enterprise Server is an available addon service for Microsoft Exchange 2007 and Exchange 2013. BES device owners to use advanced sync of email, notes, calendars as well as many productivity, security and management features not available in other solutions.

Profitability Best Practice

BlackBerry is one of the most popular mobile platforms available and Own Web Now accommodates users that choose to use the BlackBerry Enterprise Server. We have some suggestions when positioning BlackBerry for users:

  • Most of the BlackBerry sync functionality is now built into Microsoft Exchange 2013 free of charge for iPhone, Android and Windows Mobile. Please make your clients aware that this functionality is now available and that the mobile market has changed (BlackBerry is no longer the leading mobile platform).
  • Confirm with the clients carrier that they have a BlackBerry Enterprise Server plan on their phone. Most carriers do not sell the appropriate data plan with BlackBerry automatically and a special plan is required (additional carrier charges apply).
  • Make the client aware that BlackBerry Enterprise Server is not absolutely required to sync mail. Clients can optionally use BIS (BlackBerry Internet Service) and BlackBerry Desktop Redirector free of charge.

Our most successful clients recommend adding a managed services plan for the mobile device that is used with the Exchange 2013 hosting.
